new into dslrs, which one should I get?
I am new into this type of camera but very interested, i have these options but i'm unsure which would be good for me. I like vivid crisp photos, shoot a lot of outdoors and macro
here are my options:
for $500

(the only thing i dislike is how small the lcd screen is)

Nikon D-40 maybe used it for about a year, with a 18-55 and a 55-200 lens. A case that carries it all and an lens cleaner accessory.

Nikon D60 with an 18-55 VR lens
I was about to suggest the first option until i saw the lens...it may be convenient but it's not a good one. If you can arrange it that you get the 18-55, perhaps even the VR version, instead of that 28-300 Tammy lens, then i'd call it a deal if all the gear is in good condition.
The 18-55 is only a kit lens too, but other than being slow (i.e. small maximum aperture) it's surprisingly good. Or get it with the Tamron lens, but be prepared to replace that one rather soon.
The D40 has been discontinued for almost three years now, so getting one that has been used for only about a year seems unlikely. I take it that the 55-200 is not the VR version...given that, i'd skip it, even though i like the D40 very much.
The D60 then again seems overpriced compared to the D40 and especially compared to the D70.
Keep in mind, you can get a brand new D3000 kit for $500, or a Pentax Kx somewhere in that range as well.
