Polarizer Glass Filter

Polarizer filter only for landscapes?

I just got my first polarizer filter (woo hoo!) and I know a little about it and what it does. My big question, that I have not found the answer to is do I only use it for landscapes and photographs with water, glass and etc.? I do a lot of hiking and macro, meaning a lot of my photographs do not contain the sky or water. Could someone be so kind as to tell me the different occasions you use a macro filter? Thank you!

A polarizing filter can do two things.

When used with the camera pointing at 90 degrees to the suns arc, the sky will become darker blue.

When shooting reflective objects under sun light, the reflections can be reduced.

Unless you were shooting shiny leaves, a polarizing filter would only cause you to use slower shutter speeds, which could cause blurring of your subject.

While I rarely use a polarizing lens, I always have it with me along with a spare UV filter and a few different ND filters.

The reason to have a UV filter on your lens 99% of the time.

As you can see, the lens hood was not effective in protecting the lens (UV filter)
