setting up amp settings what does level/subsonic/low boost filter/low pass filter mean.?
i wan to get good bass but i dont wanna risk messing up the subs or amp the amp is 1100 watts sony xplod and i have 2 10"inch kenwood subs there 300 rms please help thanks
To start off, I would set the gain level at half way. Since you are running 10's that probably won't play anything below 25Hz, you can turn on the subsonic crossover and set it around 25Hz. I would leave any boost settings turned off (they usually only add distortion and sound crappy). Your low pass filter will make the greatest adjustment to the way your subs sound. It needs to be coordinated with a high pass crossover (filter) for all your other speakers (if you have one built into your head unit; assuming you are running all highs on your head unit) Otherwise, 80 to 120Hz is going to be the range you will more than likely adjust it to. If 120Hz sounds too over bearing, turn it down a bit and viceversa. After getting it to sound the way you want, you can adjust the gain to produce the proper amount of bass to balance with the highs.
