Is Europe anti-Bush?

When Bush called for the overthrow of Hussein, there were demonstrations all over the US and Europe. The usual crowd of leftists and anarchists hit the streets, burning bush in effigy. Dems and Hwood shouted that Europe stood against Bush's actions, and that we were isolated in the world.

Like 1968, when the Dems shouted "Hey hey, LBJ! How many kids did you kill today?", watching the news made it appear that all the world was against the US and the war. Amazingly, Nixon called on the "silent majority" of Americans to ignore the rebellion in the streets, and beat the anti-war Dems.

In Europe today, despite the inital outcry against Bush, both Germany and France have elected pro-Bush conservatives. Yesterday, France's foreign minister made a surprise visit to Iraq, calling for cooperation with the US to promote peace and democracy in Iraq?

Is this another example of the silent majority shutting down the radical left? What does it mean for 2008?

George Bush's popularity in Europe has slowly improved, now that most of Europe realizes that he is the one chief of state who will not back down from our common enemies.

Vladimir Putin has done a lot to gain infamy from western Europe. They see Russia as a very unreliable trading partner, particularly for energy. Plus, his recent threat to point missiles their way didn't bode well amongst most European country's.

As far as the radical left is concerned, that combined with a extremely ineffective Congress could see another Republican in the White House in 2009 !
