What actually do we refer to as photo accessories? They are the extra things that makes photo shooting experience a better one. Now days there are a lot of photography accessories on the market today of which only a few are useful while the rest are nothing but a waste of precious money. Here are a few of the most important accessories for landscape photography that one may need.
Tripod: only one reason to carry this thing, make your images sharp. Its next to impossible to get a very sharp image of a distant landscape where the light is fading in the evening. While choosing a tripod stand one should pick one that is made out of carbon fibres which are light enough to carry easily and are sturdy on the ground. A tripod whose legs are spread out far would be a good choice as it would provide much support.
Filters: there is no harm in carrying a small selection of filters when heading off for a trip. First of all they don’t take up too much space and will surly add a bit of tanginess to your images. One should have a polarizing filter at the top of the list, while a few Neutral Density filters will definitely help with tough exposures. A 0.3, 0.6 and 0.9 will help with exposure without affecting the color of the image. A few warm up filter should also be there in case the atmosphere is bit cool.
Correct Film: One should surly use some best of the film’s present in today’s market. A good brand is always that someone should look into. A person using a digital SLR need not think all this as each and everything can be done later on. That is what image processing is all about. But he should remember to bring a lot of memory.
Cable Release: To minimize the risk of camera shake one should ensure to use camera straps to be hung around one’s neck. Once again the quality matters.
Light Meter: Though all modern day cameras have in built light meters, it is always advisable to take on a light meter in your bag as they do not have much weight and are handy. Also it may help you in giving the best picture of the day.
Some other advisable things to carry are some spare batteries and some few spare lenses.

Filter questions...do they snap on? are some better than others?
i just bought a sony hc96, i want to get a filter kit for it and more clear spares as well, im just wondering if you can put a filter on my camcorder (zoomania had a package where it sold filters with it) are some filters better quality than others? i will be using polarized and clear and will be shooting in the snow, so im thinking i should buy extras in case i have to wipe the filter off if it gets wet. thanks

Most consumer camcorders that accept filters use filters that screw on. Yes, some filters are better than others (glass vs plastic). Tiffen makes good ones.
If you are shooting in the snow, you know it can get cold. All electronic devices have an "operating temperature" range. The termperature (cold) can impact battery life (cloder = less battery life). Using a gentle heating device will help. The pros use things like the PortaBrace Polar mitten.
