I just purchased a new polarizer filter. I use a Nikon D60 with a nikkor 50mm 1.8 whitch i must focus manually...
on the filter it says it must be used with a slr that auto focuses
mines does however the lens i use does not.. does this mean i cant use the filter?
I think you misread the auto-focus reference to the circular polarizing filter. It is the only type polarizing filter that will work with an auto-focus lens.
Using the filter has more to do with adjusting the filter for its maximum effect once you have composed and focused the lens.
The most sky effect is found when the axis of your lens is at 90 degrees to the arc of the sun.
