Polarising Filter Nikon
Just got a new lens I know I need filters, but what kind (brand)?
Can I just get the cheaper filters? Specially the uv filter? I would also like to get a polarized one too. Which one would be good for not alot? I have a Nikon D5000 with a 18-200mm lens?
A good filter isn't cheap. A cheap filter isn't good. Always buy quality filters. Heliopan, Tiffen, B+W, Hoya, Sing-Ray.
For over 38 years I've kept the front element of every lens I own except one - a 16mm fisheye - protected with either a Skylight or UV filter. You can list me a a "True Believer" in their value.
If you shoot outdoors then you definitely need a circular polarizer. Makes a blue sky darker and removes/reduces glare/reflections from glass, water, snow, sand and painted metal - but not polished metal.
