In the meadow of world at end
a small flower was blooming
it was the industry of nature
churning out pollen and oxygen
as though today
was the only day
the sun could not help
but smile on such folly
his crown of fire
stirred with his bemusement
and a flare
erupted
the sky was made darkened
yet birds still sang
black clouds gathered in a menacing fashion
but bees still made honey
then a grey eyes rolled
seeking signs in the heavens
wearing the clothes of common fears
labored lung wheezing in panic
as film soaked slobber
dangled from the chin of this prophet
that was a beggar
and a lunatic
a criminal element
he spake of an epoch
that would lay to waste
the colors of life
and his leather skin
leaked the sap
of sour sweat
screaming at the soft petals
but the flower was rooted
and could not run
