Mirror or Camera Lens? Which is the truth?
It's surprising, you can take a movie of yourself, watch it, and find yourself attractive, but when you pause it, you dislike the picture that is stilled. Flash on a camera makes most people self conscious because it's unnatural light and thus distorts the final image making face curves and bumps more prominent.
Mirrors in my opinion are far more accurate. Sure mirrors are reversed, but it's still you, it doesn't matter which way it looks.

I went to a science exhibit where you could view yourself as a mirror image, two left sides, etc. One was "how others see you" and it was NOT the same as anything else (not even the mirror image).
I'd agree with you about the mirror, but again, neither are what you look like to others. (I was delighted to see that I thought I looked best in the "how others see you" view!)
