Macro Filter Set
could using a very cheep extension tube or bellows or filter damage my camera or lens?
I am wondering if an extremely cheap extension tube set or bellows could damage a camera or lens? I know that photo quality wouldnt be as good with cheap equipment, but could it cause damage?
Also this ebay seller is very cheap ($7 for extension tubes), but how do I know if their extension tubes and bellows will fit a Nikon D3100.. says it will fit Nikon D70 D80 D300 D700 D200 L8O but how do I know if it will fit nikon d3100???

please let me know if you know that anything there would fit the nikon d3100. I am not sure which other camera would be equivelant to the nikon d3100 in extension fittings etc>? also I want to fit the Nikon micro 60 mm lens, would this have any effect on which extension tubes or bellows I buy?

I know I'm not going to win with this but..
You own a Nikon. That uses a Nikon mount. The seller probably does not feel like listing every single nikon that the products work on. Wouldn't fit in the ebay add.
The cheap tubes and the bellows act like an Ai lens and, as your manual tells you, that restricts you to shooting in Manual exposure mode. The latest AF-S 60mm lenses will not work with these rings. The older 60mm f2.8d would work but that will not autofocus on your camera without these rings.
The more expensive auto rings are also nikon mount, these would allow you to shoot in A or S mode as well. Whether these would let your autofocus work is impossible to say from these pictures.
None of these should damage your camera but do check them for any obvious manufacturing faults and mount them the first time with care. It's cheap chinese and they can make the occasional mistake, don't force anything and you should be fine
