The aggressively styled Pentax K-x is a 12.4MP dSLR camera from the Pentax camera company. When it comes to looks the K-x really excels if you have always found the simple black color that all the dSLR cameras are then you can have red, blue or white colored K-x camera. However the really cool colors are Japan exclusives you can order from them if you're in the states or Europe but shipping and customs fees don't seem worth it.

Picture taking with the Pentax K-x is enjoyable with many features that help the process along. Like for instance if you set the camera to auto the camera self adjusts for each camera taking situation. The other cool thing is the camera has a HDR mode if you know what that is and like how they look this is a function for you.

The Pentax K-x dSLR camera is priced fairly at $649.95 considering all you get. If you want a camera that is easy to use and that allows you to do more with photos than a traditional point-and-shoot camera the Pentax K-x is perfect for you.

Can JPEG photos be edited without losing too much photo quality?

I have a Canon Xti and took a ton of pictures in the largest JPEG format it has. Some of them came out darker than I would have liked and I want to edit some of them. Basically just making them a little lighter if possible. Can this be done without losing too much quality? What's a good free program to use? I heard something about GIMP. I really don't know what I'm doing, but I took over 1400 pictures in Japan and a lot didn't come out that good. I know its my fault for not knowing what I'm doing, but I'm hoping with some post-production work I can improve some of the pics. I shot a few in RAW, but most are large JPEGs. Also, my circular polarizing filter got stuck on my lens the whole trip. I'm really mad about that and still can't get it off. I'm thinking that contributed to some of my crappy shots. Please help!

Gimp is a good program to use, so is Photofiltre. Go to download.com and test out some free photo editing programs. They shouldn't turn out any different than what you make them with your photo editing program. If you just lighten them a little bit. You try to save them as PNG which is more clearer than jpg.
