Taking Pictures During The Sunrise

Sunrise photography is one of the most spectacular and challenging types of photography. The beauty of the sun during sunrise is so magnificent that every photographer would love to capture the view. Although there are quite a few tips and techniques that are to be kept in mind such as the type of camera lens, positioning of the camera at the perfect angle and availability of sufficient light which can produce satisfactory images. Time as well as other safety issues has to be kept in mind before clicking pictures. Every camera has different specific requirements which form an important aspect during sunrise photography.

Sunrise photography can be done with any type of camera but then LCD cameras are normally preferred. LCD cameras can be held closer to the photographer’s which gradually reduces camera shake while clicking pictures. Even then if the photographer is worried about camera shake then it is advisable that he uses a tripod stand which would make his work more convenient. Sunrise photography should be done in such a manner that it just highlights and enhances the colors of the sky making the picture look more graceful. A photographer should always use his discretion during sunrise photography as he should always adjust the horizon line carefully to suit his subject.

During sunrise photography if at all the photographer is using a digital camera with an optical lens then he should never face the sun directly with the lens on as it might just damage the lens of the camera forever. This precaution has to be taken especially when the photographer is out on a hot sunny day. The photographer should switch off the camera at regular intervals with the lens cap cover over the lens to protect the lens from too much of light. During sunny days the photographer should click pictures at regular intervals.

Sunrise photography is always splendid and the color of the sky just adds to its beauty. If a subject is incorporated during the photography such as a tree, silhouette etc it just adds more perspective to the image. A photographer has to wake up early for capturing some of the magical images of the day. The photographer should never miss out on such moments because of laziness. Proper photography equipments are extremely necessary during sunrise photography. The photographer can make use of different filters for his camera lens for varying intensities of the sun. There should be a proper balance between the color and exposure.

One important thing to be kept in mind during sunrise photography is that the line of horizon should never be in the middle of the picture and weather elements like fog, mist and rainbow just add more depth to the picture by adding brilliant colors. A photographer should always be creative and should think of employing different ideas while capturing the beauty of the sun. If the photographer is not contended with the type of picture he has clicked, he should continue doing so until and unless he gets the clear perspective that was in his mind. In this way the photographer can improve his skills in sunrise photography.

About the Author

Photography is a wonderful experience if you are into nature.  I have been my whole life and I love every moment of being a professional photographer.

I have a JVC model # GR-D71 . When trying to record it says to remove lens cap which is off . How do I fix ?

I have a JVC digital video camera model # GR-D71. When trying to record it tells me to remove the lens cap which already has been removed. It will play back tapes and acts like it will record but it is not picking up any images through the camera. I was wondering if anyone else has had a simular problem and how they corrected it? The camera is little more than 1 1/2 years old so I hate to junk it. Any ideas and /or help are greatly appreciated . Thanks.
