Hood Photo Nikon
How would I achieve this with Nikon D40 ?
I just revived a Nikon D40 with kit lens for Christmas and i would like to achieve vignetting/whatever is going on like in this picture:

I know I can do it using photoshop but I know that its possible to have it happen when you take a picture. Does anyone know how to go about doing this? Flash compensation, aperture, shutter speed? Do they have anything to do with it?? Would a lens hood or speed light help?
I obviously have a lot to learn and would appreciate all the help I can get. Thank you!
Im talking about how the guy is bright and the background seems to fade into black and is blurry while he is sharp
Vignetting is a problem if you use too long a lens hood for your lens.
You could try rubber-banding cardboard round your lens to see if that’s the effect that you’re after.
