Canon or Sony?
I current have a Fuji FinePix E900 Digital Camera with 9.0MP and 7.6x digital zoom.
Which camera would be the better upgrade?
Canon Powershot 10.0MP (SD900) with 4x digital zoom
or
Sony Cyber-shot 10.1MP (DSC-N2) with 2x digital zoom
Let me know your thoughts and reason behind them as to which camera you would pick. Please don't answer this with something unrelated to the question about prices and stuff because I only need the answers to the camera question... Thanks!
Canon if you want to zoom while taking pictures "in the field" but the Sony if you can wait until you get them on the computer. Digital zoom (I assume you know since you already have such a nice camera) is the same as any zooming or enlarging you do in any photo editing software. If you can wait until later to crop and resize your picture then the Sony is .1MP better which isn't much especially when you're looking at 10MP already but why not get a few more pixels if you don't need to zoom right away. If you want to frame up your shot and zoom without messing with a computer get the Canon. They are both good brands so you can't go wrong there. I would also find a store that carries the cameras and compare them to see how you personally like them. They both take great pictures but it comes down to your taste in features, menus, style of camera, etc.
