Types Of Camera Lenses

There are many lenses available out there that can either be bought or taken up for rent. These lenses make all the difference as far as the quality of images is concerned. The fisheye lens can be used up to an angle of 180 degrees and since this angle distorts the photograph, the four sides appear to be very far away.

is a wide angle lens is considered a macro lens?

umm, im quiet a newbie here in the vast field photography.well, i need to know, i just bought this nikon d3000 and i got a wide angle lens too.it said there at the wide angle lens "macro".so, whats that suppose to mean?and plus, when i zoom it out, i would get a very nice fisheye kind of view.anyone care to explain?

A true specialist 'Macro' lens really means 1:1 reproduction of an object on the negative or sensor. In other words an object 24 x 36 mm would cover the entire area of the negative (or the sensor of a full frame digital camera)

When they advertise a wide angle or medium telephoto lens as being 'Macro' it just means you can get a decent shot of something quite small but not necessarily 1:1 as above
