Filter Lens Set
Where can I get an infrared lens for a Canon L2 (high-8) Camcorder for capturing UFO's at night?
I am interested in capturing some night footage of of those mysterious rods and UFO's that the naked eye cannot see. I actually have 4 Canon L2 cameras, and as I have been told, I should point a set of camcorders in the night sky parallel to each other. One with the IR lens, and one without. Then compare the movies after the recording. I did a test and pointed a remote control to the lens, and could in fact see the infrared beam. Saying that, I was then told to cellophane tape the lens with some film negative (black) and voila, I have an IR capable lens (white contrast set to manual with lowest setting). These lenses I have are 15x (8-120MM), and can zoom quite well. Can someone offer me some advice? Can I use negative film over the existing lens? Or is there a website where I can buy a IR filter? Thanks for reading!
