what is the best model of Canon EOS digital camera to buy that is compatible with my old Canon lenses A1?
I have a series of camera lenses I used w / my Canon A1. I am thinking about buying a newer model digital camera Canon EOS. i no w / c model would be best that I can use my Canon lenses of age.
Unfortunately, the A1 uses the Canon FD lens mount. Canon dropped this lens mount for the EOS lens mount when they introduced your camera's autofocus 35 mm in 1985. The EOS mount is used on all Canon DSLR cameras. However, Canon provided an adapter for using the lens mount EOS FD mount bodies. You should be able to find one at: http://www.adorama.com http://www.keh.com http://www.bhphotovideo.com There is also an adapter to allow using the Minolta MC / MD lenses are mounted on Canon EOS body mount. (Minolta mount has also changed in 1985 when it introduced its AF camera. The A-mount Minolta Maxxum 7000 is used by Sony DSLR cameras today). Please remember that the use of old lenses manual focusing is required and is likely to "let down" measurement because they have contacts between the lens and camera body to enable the automatic measurement.
