How to show depth when drawing this picture?

How do I show that his shoulder is further from the camera than his face, because when I try it looks like he has a really short neck and really high shoulders because you can't tell that his face is like covering his shoulder. HELP!

if you look closely, his sholder starts right below his lips, thats what tells us that his shoulder is actually farther then his face. just make sure you do that thing too. another thing is, when you are finished drawing the shoulder, add some shades and it will look like its far. also draw the face bigger then the shoulder.
